Perfect depiction of my reaction when he read my memory card too. In the Japanese version, he also notices if you played Snatcher and Policenauts. Kojima actually thanks you for playing them.

What!? Now how did he...?

By reading the PlayStation Memory Card for other Konami games.

In the GameCube port for this game, Psycho Mantis will also check the Memory Card for Nintendo games.

If you don't have any save data that he's been programmed to say out loud, then he'll just say "Your memory is completely clean".

Was really freaky and surprising for those who played this about 11 years ago.

H-h-h-how the CRAP did he catch on to him like that!? Seriously!! He's a conputer program! He shouldn't be able to read the mind of the very player him/herself!

Nice job on drawing Psycho Mantis. He looks awesome! When I found out he can do that kind of stuff, it freaked me out. I don't remember what games he read on from me, but the Castlevania one, priceless, he should know that nearly almost EVERYONE likes Castlevania.

Anyway, like I said, good job.

is azure dreams even a konami game?

Yeah, it is.

The fact that Psycho Mantis mentions Azure Dreams when you have a save file of it confirms it, since they only mention Konami games after all (at least for the original PS version).

Konami also made Ephemeral Fantasia for the PS2.

Think of it as a cross between traditional RPGs and Groundhog Day.
